My greatest takeaway from my second and third semester, was to constantly back up your files, invest in automatic cloud saving and learn to use it properly, and buy insurance for your laptop if you're travelling with it constantly.

Long story short, my laptop was stolen right before the final deadline, and it was then that I discovered I didn't back things up correctly. No better place to learn than in school.
